HELP: F&E tank overflow when boiler comes on

    Thanks for the help everyone. I think there is definitely air in the system somewhere as the water is rising very fast, the trouble is getting rid of it and also finding out where it came from in the first place. Going to have to use the range and stove for heating and leave the boiler alone for now (a pain, as the boiler is hooked up to climote which is handy for turning on heat remotely)

    Going to do the following over the weekend:

    • Try the test outlined in post 28 as suggested
    • bend arm of F&E ballcock to reduce water level a bit more
    • Turn all rads off and open one by one
    • Change the faulty rad or at least take it off and flush
    • Bleed any air where possible (rads, boiler, etc)
    • Add system cleaner (Sentinal x400)
    • Add system inhibitor (Sentinal x100)

    Then say a few prayers 🙂

    When the stove or range is on, note the F&E tank level with system(s) fully hot.

    OK, an update here....
