Garda caution and mortgage application

Hi all Does anyone know what impact a garda caution has on a mortgage application? I was cautioned for something very minor and not at all related to money or finance or anything like that. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all

It likely would have zero impact- as technically you do not have a criminal record, you have not been brought to court and had findings made against you. If its an adult caution- it wouldn't even feature on a Garda check for immigration purposes etc.
If in doubt- pop into your local Garda baracks and have a chat with the Sargeant- he/she will be happy to explain exactly what the caution system is and how it works.
