Hi, just wanted to ask a question. Unfortunately broke a bone and will be in a boot for a number of weeks so will be out of work. Is it ok that I just applied online for the illness benefit and my gp said they are sending the cert or notification to the social today.

Do I still need to fill in a IB1 form? I got one but not sure if I need to as I applied online last night.

Just want to get it sorted before the Christmas.

    Any help would be great,

    Thanks

I believe you need to fill in the IB1 form but can submit this through your mywelfare account (if you have one set up) as an attachment.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it! I filled out the online application through my welfare last night. Only got the IB1 form today. There was no option for attachments anyways.

Like I said, the gp is sending a cert today too. Hoping that’s enough.

A , I see, I assumed you had form and could attach, I think it might be worth calling the section that deals with illness benefit, maybe you could fill in and email etc
