    Ms

For me it has to be " I wish every day was Christmas" by "Wizzard" because I certainly don't wish that and doubt many people do either. If it was Christmas everyday how would you get anything done? and people would eventually just get bored of it. It's just silly.

Now Summer on the other hand I would have no problem if it could be Summer every day.

So what Christmas song do you not like?

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Could not do christmas day every day!

Maybe 12 days of christmas / the christmas period would be ok?

Or is it meant in a groundhog day kinda way...

Stop The Cavalry Ive never liked... dont like the tune, its not festive just christmas is mentioned in a lyric incidentally.

The answer is probably a Cliff Richard song

I heard he got off all those charges cos he promised not to release any more records

Christmas Wrapping or something like that, irritates the absolute **** out of me. I literally have to leave anywhere it’s playing

Fairytale of New York, even the original. It’s just so inescapable during the Holiday Season that I have been sick of it for years.

“I want a hippopotamus for Christmas” or “All I want for Christmas”.

East 17, stay another day. Purely cos its not a Christmas song, just a bunch of clowns with furry coats that released a song at Christmas.

Slade's one : just a noisy 70s glam rock song that mentions Christmas but doesn't sound Christmassy at all.

That one, “When Santa got stuck up the chimney sweep”. Disturbing.

Has to be Ronan Keatings version of Fairytale of New York.

"Daddy please don't get drunk this Christmas" by John Denver or "Santa Claus has got the AIDS this year" by Tiny Tim

If you thought 'Fairytale of New York' was miserable, those two ditties make it seem positively euphoric.

    I loathe most Christmas songs.

Ever notice how so many great music artists of the 1970s and 80s released Christmas songs that were just pure cack? 😕😕🤢🤮🤮

The ones I despise the most are a tie between Mistletoe and Wine by Cliff Richard and All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey.

Songs to be endured, not enjoyed.

I hate that Darkness one. Dreadful...

Mariah Carey; the sing-screaming, vocal wankery and bells smashed by sledge hammers.

    A musical abortion.

I don't like simply having a wonderful christmas time. I'm a huge beatles fan, have a couple of post beatles Paul McCartney records which are great. But I just dislike that song.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,292 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Was there an element of, we know it's a poor song but it'll still get played because it's a Christmas song?

And then for some non-loaded bands it's probably their only royalty check still coming in decades later...

Its not even close, in a genre that littered with absolutely awful awful songs (& I say that as a huge fan of Christmas), Christmas Shoes wins it by a fair margin, its a horrendous piece of semi-religious, self pitying garbage...

Couldn't agree more, horrible waily song.

I like most Christmas songs apart from that. (I have never heard Christmas shoes and I'm not going to seek it out! 😁) But! - no playing them after December 25th!
