Workplace closing for a month.

    It looks like my workplace will be closing for between 4-6 weeks. If they keep me on the books with no hours am I entitled to jobseekers for that month?

    If your being temporarily laid off, yes but obviously you'll need verification of lay off from employer and obviously T&C"s apply.

    If the layoff is connected to recent government restrictions, Hospitality etc you may be eligible for the new PUP however this will be sector specific and details yet to be announced on who will be eligible. If your lay off is a seasonal thing or a company specific financial decision and not related to pandemic restrictions it's unlikely you'll qualify for the PUP, details being announced tomorrow I believe.

    I'd certainly look at details on the DEASP regarding your jobseekers entitlements on the DEASP website.
