Thinking of buying an old Hilux.... Classic in the near future?

    I'm thinking of buying an old Toyota Hilux (1995-2000) with a few to sprucing this old workhorse up to have classic status. I know it's not the prettiest vehicle but I've always liked the ruggedness and versatility of these 4x4s.

    My question relates to the different engine choices. Am I better with the 2.4, 2.5 or 3.0 litre diesel?
