Graphics pad to write instead of type into MS Word?

Hi All,

I have nerve damage in my right hand which stops me from doing my job of which a large part is typing. I am not up on the latest technology and wondering if I can get a gizmo to allow me to hand write instead, and convert that to text in MS Word.

the most affordable option would be the samsung s6 lite tablet that comes with the s-pen and has s-pen to text feature

the text could be edited directly on the tablet with ms word android or similar other editor on android and/or sent by email to your pc if you really want to edit there

also - voice option below mentioned may work for you for no cost. (also available on phone or tablets though the microphone icon on the mini keyboard on-screen)

Try text to speech- built into windows 10… different microphones may give different results.

To activate speech-to-text dictation in Windows 10, press the Windows key plus H (Windows key-H).

Thanks for the tip, I tried it just now in Word - it just brings up a box that says Initializing.. and that then sits there.

Thanks Glasso - so I would need to save and then import to word etc, could be tricky.. is there no way just to make it happen in Word, like I write and it types as I write..?

Not really - Microsoft have a different product in MS Office for that - called OneNote - you may or not have it depending on what version of Office you have.

Its really best suited to owners of some type of windows tablet that has a touch screen or other hardware with pen support.

Dont know whats up with your text to speech, but don't just give up just yet - reboot PC and try again.

yes this would actually be a very affordable option at £40 and work with your pc/ laptop

I think that you'll have to use Microsoft onenote and to do the conversion and then simply copy text to word (simple copy and paste)
