Overpayment of tax query

I submitted some medical/dental expense receipts online last month and after doing so I discovered that I had overpaid tax by several hundreds of euros in 2020 and about 50 euro in 2019. Does anyone know if this money gets paid to my bank account and if so, when this would be likely to happen?

once you submit your rtn and ask for a balancing statment any money owed to you is payed within the week.

Assuming you received a statement of liability for 2020 and 2019 telling you what you are due; if you check page 1 of the statement of liability, it tells you what is happening with the refund amount. Going to the bank account on your record, going as a cheque to you or offset against underpayments on record.
