Ford Heated Windscreen Replacement

Hi,

I’ve a 2015 focus with the heated windscreen. Whoever had it before me obviously didn’t change the wipers regularly enough and now there is a big deep diagonal scratch going from one corner or the windscreen to the other.

I’ve tried everything to get rid of it but only succeeded in making it look better for a few days.

my question could I get this replaced with the windscreen cover on my insurance? I’ve checked already and I do have the cover but because it isn’t cracked I don’t think they’d cover it. And also the screen is heated so would they be able to replace with another heated one?

Failing all this anyone know how to get deep gouges out of windscreen glass?

you could put a little crack in it 😲 😎

But you can definitely get a replacement windscreen with the heated function on it.

I had mine replaced and there was no issue

Double check that they'll cover it. Some don't cover non-standard glass.

They won't cover replacement if the window is scratched, afaik.

But if it were cracked you would have no issue getting a replacement ? The solution to your problem is very obvious .

If you do go for a replacement OP just make sure that any associated trims are replaced at the same time. I had a heated screen changed on the 08 focus then suffered from appalling wind noise. They had to do it again this time replacing the surrounding trim as well.

I EVENTUALLY got my rear ford focus heated window changed via insurance

I changed blades, the arm (amazon and a breakers), cleaned and cleaned it and still like a line would appear

Rang insurance, came out, said there is a scratch and something something have to ring and off he went, eventually got the word from insurance to go ahead (confused as to why I had to even ask)
