Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced nice brand of Montepulciano please?

I assume you mean Montepulciano D’Abruzzo rather than Vino Nobile di Montepulciano?

That's always confusing, think they are planning to go with just Vino Nobile in future...

This is a top one, I got it in Martins but don't see it listed on website at the mo:

Well this is a coincidence My youngest son has just come back from Montepulciano. He visited a number of vineyards and purchased a few bottles of Nobile di Montepulciano.

Also a 10 year old sweet wine which for the life of me I can't remember the name. (My Christmas present)

I won't see him until Christmas therefore no reviews.

If only it was that simple... both are red.

The Vino Nobile is a premium wine made with the same grape as chianti (sangiovese), not that common here.

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (grape Montepulciano) is more readily available and much more likely to come across it say on restaurant wine lists. I would hazard a guess thats the one you are looking for.

@odyssey06 I think I might just get the SV Emotivo Brand.. he doesn't like strong wine anyway so might suit him best
