Hi is there a lifespan on radiators. Our house was built in 2005. We live in a very hard water area over the last year or so i have replaced 2 which started leaking. One at the front middle of the rad and another underneath . Just noticed another one started leaking which will need to be changed. Just wondering wether to bite the bullet and change them all or wait until they start leaking. Thanks

Very unusual. Similarly living in a very hard water area but never had issues like you're experiencing. Radiators in the house were installed 40 years ago when the house was built.

The radiators in our house are 10 years old and were fitted by a weed smoking 65 year old from North Wales.

They've been leaking since day 1.

my parents had this issue years ago.

i dont think the hard water is the issue. is it a solid fuel system. is it pitching up into the header tank. when it is doing this it is pulling in fresh water all the time. fresh water is very hard on the system and will rush boilers and rads.this is what was wrong with my parents. all the rads started going at the bottom. i came home one day to the whole hall carpet under a 1/4" of water, and another time to 'steam' fogging up my bedroom window from a pin hole. boiler went in the cooker as well.

Yeah it's a solid fuel system . Someone said rads have a lifespan of 10- 15 year but I don't know many people who have had to change radiators 😡
