Hysterectomy / CIN / CGIN

    Hi All,

I tried to search for similar threads but nothing came up so apologies if this has been done before.

I've been advised I may need a hysterectomy because they have found CIN3 and CGIN.

I've been frantically googling the implications and while the side effects can be extreme, a lot of women seem happy to have gotten it done because they had cancer or endometriosis.

Given mine is precautionary and wont be a relief per se, I'm finding it harder to imagine dealing with the effects.

Has anyone had any similar experiences or advice?

If it’s any help I’m almost 8 weeks post op from an abdominal hysterectomy (due to really big fibroids). Honestly it’s been fine! Much much better than I was expecting after watching YouTube videos(!). My pain was managed really well - I had an epidural the first 2 days and then I was up doing laps of the corridors when the epidural was out and able for short walks when I was home. It IS major surgery so you do need to take it easy - I found it very easy to overdo it at first and once you do it you learn to take things a bit easier…but day by day you get stronger.
