I'm hoping to become a member of the Garda when I turn 18 I want to apply but you have to be able to speak 2 language's 1 of which must be English or Irish but the thing is I'm dyslexic and only really have been able to learn English does anybody know if there is an exception to dyslexic people?

I'm afraid the requirements are the same for everybody.

English plus another proven language proficiency, need not be Irish but you need the two in other words.

No exceptions as Buzz mentioned.

To clarify for anybody who may not have seen it:

The two language requirement has been removed. 

Previously, those joining the Garda had to be proficient in two languages, one of which had to be Irish or English.

However, under the new changes proficiency in only one language will be required. The Garda Síochána (Admissions and Appointments) Regulations 2013 will be amended to give effect to the change.
