Also better than that overrated Portugal side. We drew with them the first time and beat them last night. Not bad oul going at all. He should be commanded.

What I know of Stephen Kenny I like. Seems like an honest decent man who is trying to fundamentally alter the Irish approach to football for the better. Whether it bears real fruit, only time will tell, but he's so far taken it from the point where he job was right on the precipice to where there is hope for the future. Hopefully, he comes good sooner rather than later because when you measure your life in terms of Euros and WCs, it's not that long.

Meanwhile Paddy hates the Brits but follows their teams.

Results have been really inconsistent, but we're way better to watch. Looking at the game last night I was excited at the thought of what this group of players, especially the less experienced ones obviously, will be like in 15-20 caps time as their belief grows. If we beat Lux on Sunday, I'd be for keeping him on for the next tournament.

Ireland is the only country on the planet where the overseers of failure and efforts are lauded over results...Effort means nothing unless you turn effort into results, we had two shots on goal in 95 minutes of football.. the opposition played with 10 men for 15 or so minutes......

Yearra he's doing well with what he's got. But what's more important is it's actually watchable and dare I say exciting.

Mccarthy was grand too, we had enough of Trap and O'Neil who might just get us qualified but it was dirge.

He gets the players to treat the football like a football not a bomb with a lit fuse so that's a step forwards imo.

Is Brady trying to emulate Dunphy? I think he's dour enough but doesn't have the pizzaz. Kenny is in his cross hairs and he's finding it hard to eradicate his bias.
