Contractor for House Extension

Looking for a name of a contractor to add an extension to an end-of-terrace house. It's for an elderly person who can no longer use the stairs. They need a bedroom and bathroom downstairs.

Or, if anyone in the know could give a ball-park figure (however rough). Their only income is the old age pension, with some savings, so it might be completely beyond their means and not worth looking for quotes.

If their doctor says that they are physically unable to use the stairs then the council will pay most of the cost of an extension. My parents had extension - new downstairs bedroom, incorporated the downstairs bathroom as ensuite - built about 3 years ago, about €30K; be fair bit more now I'd say. Perhaps a stair lift might be cheaper/better option if workable?

Cheers. It's a bit of a minefield! Stairlift was my first thought but HSE won't sanction that due to eyesight issues.
