I know from previous questions that if you want to use a different router can simply remove the F2000 box and connect the router to the the ONT. However is there any way to use the supplied phone line if your not using the F2000? I'm guessing the answer is no but just want to check.

Unless you could retrieve your VOIP details from the router ( hacking)or get it from provider( EIR won't give it to you,) answer is NO.

ps. There is an App at Apple Store , EirTalk it let you use iPhone or iPad as landline phone.

You could call EIR and ask to replace current router ( Is it dropping WIFI , rebooting constantly or any other issues you have with it ?) , new F3000 much better router ( better WiFi range and speeds )
