Any saving burnt Xmas cake?

Hi Can anyone tell me is there any saving a burnt Xmas cake? I’ve read online that it may be possible to salvage it by cutting the top off and feeding it brandy until Xmas. Has anyone experience of this? Or should I cut my losses and start again?

Make a new one and have a go at salvage, as well. What's the worst thing can happen? You have a delicious dessert...just add custard or cream or both.
