Hi,

I have been a BOI customer all my life. My 11 year old turns 12 next month and I think its about time she got her own bank account.

I want an account, in her name, that I can deposit money into.

Can this be done on line? What information is needed to open the account (e.g. - as an 11 year old she does not have a utility bill!)

I was in the same boat

BOI's onboarding process is painful and then if she wants to take money out of her account / lodge money she needs to go into the bank with you

I have the account but never use it

Seemingly I have to go back in with ID to close it

Went Revolut Jnr in the end

She gets a card, money is easy to load

I get notifications when she spends

I don't think you can get a card in BOI until she's 14!!!

Thanks Frash. It certainly seems that BOI are in no rush to make this easy or to take the business.

It seems to me that few of us change banks so if you can get the customer young you will likely have them for life....... I will look at the Revolut option now. Thanks for the info.
