How can I change the notifications from "every single post" to "once until I read the damn post"?

With the forum revamp we got notifications from "every single post" by default. Follow a popular thread and say goodbye to your inbox..!

Is there a way to change this to one single email per thread??

No help OP... But I never bothered with email notiifications to begin with. Never saw the need for that extra nuisance 😊

On the right side of the thread name/title there's a small flag icon - click that and the thread will appear under the My Threads tab on the main page.

I'm on a laptop (don't know about mobile, sorry)

If I start a thread, I get 'notifications' by way of the 'bell' (top right of page) notifications, I think - although usually about 20 minutes after a post...

Otherwise, I'm still using the 'old setup' , and intermittently go from 'Latest Posts' to 'Followed Threads' , and any thread I 'bookmark' will show up towards the top of the list if there's been recent post/s.

Ok, all valid answers but I might need to clarify that I'm following dozens of threads. Since the beginning of October, I've received ~600 e-mails.

This is very hard to track via the notifications yoke which very quickly maxed out at "99+".

Then the My Threads tab on the homepage doesn't take me to the first unread response so that's unusable too.

I had the same until I changed my notification preferences, click the three lines on top right on the notifications bell icon and there's a list of preferences you can change.

The notification options are less granular than they were on vBulletin, you can either be notified for every new post on every thread you follow/post in/start or none at all. I think most people have chosen none at all judging by posts in response to this kind of query. My own preference is to have email notifications off, notifications for when someone replies to me or tags me only and I use My Bookmarks to follow any threads I have an interest in.
