Water supply by gravity

Am planning to use a spring to supply water to a drinking trough 190 mt away. The fall is circa 60 cm. The spring delivers at least 3 litres / min throughout the year.

Would appreciate if anyone could indicate to me the internal dia of pipe I would need to have delivered circa 1 litre per min of water at the trough end

Also, what type of pipe would best suit the job. Since there is no sewage ,electrics, vehicular or animal traffic involved I need only a pipe that is reasonably robust. There will be no problem in supporting it over the 190 metres . And as it will not be covered I plan to ‘clad’ it with two layers of used silage plastic to keep the sun off it.

Is gthere any outlet that deals with secondhand piping or do any pipe dealer deal with seconds?

1/2 inch heavy gauge Hydrodare would do the job. Although costs 50euro for 25metres so there may be cheaper options. So long as there are no crests higher than the spring and no air-lock in the pipe - should carry 1L/min no problem.

‘‘Tis Marcus that’s great to know as I happen to have that length of piping spare from a previous experience. Main challenge I see with the hydro dare is to secure it straightened out as it is all coiled up. At least it will cost me nothing to try it apart from my own time. I assume also that hydrodare is fairly resistant to being weakened buY the sun. I will post how I get on in due course

It won't get weakened by the sun anytime soon.

Perhaps over the course of 30 years or so, but even that is doubtful.
