Xbox Chat Question - No one can hear me

I have always used the controller chat adapter (just like the one in the link below) for co-op gaming.

Until recently, I have never had an issue with it and use it primarily for Destiny 2 raids and dungeons. Now, it has stopped working. I can still hear sounds through headphones and can still hear people speaking but they cannot hear me (I have tried multiple headphones I know work but nothing) - I have gone through all the sound settings I can find on the console but cannot figure out why no one can hear me anymore.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Is there a fix?

    Thanks

Not sure If you got sorted in the meantime, but anyway

    1. silly question, but make sure your mic is not muted,
    2. download the sykpe app, and do a test call, that'll tell you straight away if the microphone is working or not.
    3. I assume you're using the chat adapter as you're using an older controller that doesn't have the 3.5mm input , if the headset works on your phone for making calls, etc, then its either the adapter or the controller thats goosed.
    4. try updating the controller firmware from settings.
    5. failing all that, id say a new controller is the easiest option.
