Yeah that scene was not needed at all. Also there is post credit scene. Also noticed that they got funding from Irish Government.

It's due to SSFX who are based In Dublin doing some VFX for the show

Decent start to S2.

Moving on quite quickly from the Butterflies plot of S1. Also a move to bring the Peacemaker world closer to the centre of the DCU with the inclusion of the Justice Gang.

However I could live without the multiverse angle, I do think it unwinds the impact of the end of S1

Agreed, unless I am missing something in my old age that scene was ridiculous and added absolutely nothing to the story. Even moreso with Peacemaker wandering around fully clothed . At first I thought he was imagining it all it was so surreal.

I saw it as him regressing back to older ways having been rejected by the Justice Gang and seeing a glimpse of the alternate reality where he hadn't killed his brother (and therefore the great relationship they have with their father and how they're heroes), and surrounding himself with drugs and sex in an attempt to distract himself from it all.

I wouldn't say it added nothing, though it was very OTT and probably included more to show how the DCU will have all kinds of content (and also that they're not going to suddenly make Peacemaker PG just because it's part of the new DCU) rather than how strict Marvel were for ages in not having anything 18+.

Interesting point, but I thought the premise of him wandering around his own house fully clothed in an orgy absurd. And everybody else in said orgy acting like he wasnt even there. Odd scene no doubt

A few of them did try to involve him a bit but he rejected them. Ultimately I think it comes down to he was trying to use it all to distract himself from what he was feeling (rejection by the heroes, knowing about his alternate life in the other dimension), but he just couldn't. That's why he was clothed and didn't engage with the others (who looked like they were having a great old time without him anyway).

Definitely an odd scene and I do think it was probably so OTT that it ended up being more of a distraction than anything, but I do think it had a purpose. He went from trying to join the Justice Gang and finally be a proper hero (like he is in the other dimension with his brother & father), but when rejected and made fun of, he resorted to a big drugs & sex party thinking it might distract him and make him feel better.

Painfully bad 2nd episode. Two right lemons to open and I'm saying that as someone who generally enjoyed the first season. But TBH, maybe I'm misremebering that. The writing and dialogue is genuinely terrible, something akin to a post-stroke Quentin Tarantino, only half-trying.

Orgy was a distraction or attempt to kick start something possibly a return to debauchery of season 1 for Peacemaker he just ain't into it no more he is lovestruck.

Vigilante is one screw loose mutherfucker he had way too good a time dismembering the different dimension situation. Gotham mentioned and the white rabbit was batman related from episode 1. Gunn is playing the long game but I'm enjoying it so far.

I think from about 40 minutes in once Eagly got going this episode was not so bad. Poor feckers.

I agree.

First episode was better than this episode for sure. Not its best but then all shows have crap episodes sometimes. Hopefully next weeks episode will be better.

Yeah the previous conversation in the van about the bird blindness felt a bit forced and was obviously going to lead to something later, but it was worth it for that.

So this might be Earth X as there was no black people in any of the scenes in the other dimension and Augie Smith is a prominent Hero.

No Amanda Waller at A.R.G.U.S also possibly why there's a happy vibe in the office.
