    Hi,

I ordered a Draper rotavator from the UK and was hit with a surprise 150 euro customs charge. As I object to being forced to pay more than the agreed sum, I cancelled the thing and returned it.

Screwfix have a unit that seems a trifle low on power, but the 302 euro price tag is attractive. Is anyone aware of a good quality more powerful unit in this price range please?

I found a Draper 162cc advertised that seemed to fit the bill at just short of 400 euro, but things have gone a little quiet since I agreed to buy at this price so methinks it might be sitting in an English warehouse with the seller only now aware that it now costs money just to get these items into the country.

The ideal would be an Einhell GC MT 3036 as my dead one would have a large number of spares, but these seem very rare as well as the problems caused as the Einhell distributer for these things is in the UK.

If anyone can recommend a stockist, I would be indebted.

    Regards

    SK

Thanks, I did look but oddly there is not much of a selection.

Funny really, I bought my first unit when living in England and there were quite a number up there.

I phoned the Draper dealer again this evening to see what the position was, but they couldn't even tell me if they had the unit in stock.

They were good with the initial replies to my emails, but I am starting to suspect that they have just found out the item they advertise on their website is now 150 euro dearer thanks to Brexit.

I've just come back after a month to find that the grass has gone completely out of control ( cutting plan during my absence fell through...) The Honda 2417 ride on, even at its highest setting, 7, is unable to cope, even with the collection box off, as was the mulcher function. So any advice anyone? Is a long ( very long) strimming session the only way tp get it back under control?

    Thanks for the comments,

The supplier in the South now has one on order on my behalf. As I suspected it is coming from the UK, but I am assured the price will not be boosted by a big customs bill like Amazon's was.

I would give the name, but I will wait until I have the unit before I decide just how good or bad he is.

A wonderful thing Brexit, the poor eejits that wanted it obviously never had the experience of trying to send a few plants from Stoke to Kerry in pre Brexit times. It would ave put them off the idea that it was a force for good for once and for all.
