vodaphone data not being used?????????

Hi,

I just changed my old dumb phone for a new Nokia 'smart' phone and still have same number. For years have topped up €20 per month with voucher.

I have just spent 3/4 days youtubing and visiting other sites. I estimate I have used at least 7/8 GBs of data. However, when I check my ballance via 1741 it keeps telling me that I have used nothing and that my ballance is still 10GBs - my normal monthly allowance.

I have checked carefully that I am not using home wi-fi or any other wifi service and that I am only using my vodaphone number for my internet usage.

I am concerned that out of the blue will come be an over allowance charge.

Any thought would be appreciated.

What plan are you on? I've had a Vodafone previously, and noticed that they're very slow to update the usage. I think they say updating every once in 24 hrs, but I found sometimes it taking longer (maybe during weekends etc).

no plan. no contract. just €20 top up with voucher. you get 4 weeks of unlimited calls and texts to any Irish landline or mobile and 10GBs of data. served me well for years.But of course never used any data because it was dumb phone. but now using lots of data!

Your previous month's unused data rolls over so you're probably still using last month's 10GB. The rollover data shows up in the app (if you can get the app to work).

If it's a call/text/data allowance for a top up, then it's a top up plan. Don't mix up with a bill pay contract - this is not what I meant.

There are 3 Vodafone top up plans without a contract: https://n.vodafone.ie/shop/pay-as-you-go-plans.html

If you aren't sure what your plan is, it should show on the online account or you can call them. If you're top up without a plan, than means you don't have allowances and simply play for what you use.

So, again, what's your plan?

It depends on the plan. 3 network do transfer, but I think Vodafone doesn't let you to use unused allowance (don't transfer to the next month). I'm not entirely sure, though, had them a year ago for a few years. Moved to a cheaper Post Mobile which is still using same Vodafone infrastructure, but for 15 Euro gives more allowances.
