I just wanted to know if anybody has or knows anybody who worked in State Street? I have received an offer from them but I have read some reviews of "Slave Street" etc which have set off alarm bells. I admit that I am a bit hesitant as they are already going through the employment verification process before I have received my contract!!

I was made redundant in April. I am currently working but State Street appears to have more potential. Any throughts would be gratefully received. Cheers

Over the years I've known many people who worked for SS and I never heard any complaints beyond the usual stuff the people complain about. If you look at any large company you'll find some disgruntled people posting, especially when they don't have to put their name to do. But what you won't are all the people that went to work in these places everyday and had no complaints.

Are you just trying to manufacture excuses for rejecting the offer? It does not matter in slightest how the admin process goes, it will get sorted out in the end and it is certainly a very poor reason for rejecting a job. At the end of the day it is just a job, not your life, if it does not workout you move on.... you have more to gain than loose on this, but if you really don't want to move forward with, just don't.
