Toyota corolla 2016 rubber smell

    Hi I hope someone can help me, I drivea 2016 Toyota Corolla. This is the 3rd time this happened in 3 yrs since I bought the car. When I drove the car there is a really bad what smells like rubber coming into the car. The smell came in just as I was parking up maybe about half hour after driving. I got really scared thinking the worst. I was just serviced about 6 wks ago. Brought it back to the garage & they said it was to do with the self cleaning thing in low emissions cars. Could this be right or is he just fobbing me off.
