Do I need a Combi box?

Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a Combi box for Irish and English Freeview TV. I think!!

My mam is near the border and can pick up the English channels on a small TV she bought in the north.

She can't get them in the bigger TV, which is soarview ready. She has an aerial outside.

I'm I right in thinking a Combi box will pick up the English channels?

Yes using the same aeriel as the small TV a combo box should pick them all up.

Does the bigger TV pick up even RTE/Virgin Media channels? If it's only picking up sound it's likely it was a UK tv to start with and not Saorview Approved.

Saorview TVs may store the UK channels from 800 upwards, check there. If there it may be possible to move them closer to the Saorview channels.

What make is the TV?

It's a Samsung TV, couldn't tell you the make!

Saorview on the big tv, the smaller one is also Samsung, from the North and receives English channels

If not, try a factory reset, reset to UK as the region, does it find and store the Freeview channels in correct UK order?

Changed the tv to United Kingdom, now she has all the British and irish channels. Brilliant 😁

Yep, RTE 1 came up at 860 I think, the rest after that somewhere 😊

It should be possible to move them into a better position out of the clutter of the 800s.
