The GP visit card

    Does the GP visit card allow you to visit any participating doctor or just the one whose name is on the card?

    I sometimes use a different doctor . Will the one whose name is not on the card have to be paid for in the same way as before I had a card?

    My understanding is the Card is linked to the practice, for example my Full Card has one of the Doctors name on it, there are 3 at my local surgery, Card normally will have the name of the GP would filled in/Signed initial application form . So I believe its more of practicething rather than individual GP , wether you can use a GP only Card in an other practice or, for example A&E I'm not sure.

    I also believe if your changing GP this would need to be notified to HSE Medical card section.
