Disabling GSM Jam detection

I had a GSM Jam fault on my HKC not long after setting the alarm last night. If I disable this in the short-term and the alarm was actually being jammed (intentionaly or not), am I only losing the ability to receive a text update? i.e. does everthing else still work?

I'm thinking we're at home anyway so jamming the texts doesn't really make much odds as obviously we can tell the alarm is going off. Surely it only matters if we're away and it were to happen? Or is there a way to leave the GSM jamming active but disable it setting the alarm off? (similar to getting a text about a line fault)

    Thanks
