Recommendation where to buy spare car fob

Hi,

Just got a 2015 Mazda 6, came with only 1 key. The fob is keyless/car has stop/start button. Any recommendations where to get a spare fob? If you're going to recommend a physical location, please note I'm in Galway.

Besides main dealers, I'd say Autokey.ie is your best bet.

You really should have had the dealer sort that out as part of the sale. A replacement won't be cheap.

Was going suggest ebay and reprogram a used one - but seems you need 2 working keys to start with?

Contacted them but as it's a stop/start system they don't do it. Main deal booked, will be about €250.

Dealer I bought from reduced price to reflect there was only 1 fob.

Glad your getting sorted...some pain when people don't keep the fobs when selling on. It would have come with 2 from new I'm sure.

Even with traditional keys with fobs often only come with 1 & can be expensive to sort a second.

I just have to be extremely careful with the fob until I have the 2nd (mid Oct)!

You could have tried wish or there is another place online to that does gadgets and electronics. The brother got a couple of fobs for his Peugeot from there when he had one and it worked grand.

Sounds like your getting sorted anyway which is good.

No idea. His was a simple key fob to lock and unlock. It was for a Peugeot 207.

Just beware buying fobs online and eBay with some you can get the car to allow by following a procedure of opening doors, turning genuine key in ignition and press ING fob, but others need a dealer to connect to cars computer. Some locksmiths can clone keys meaning no need to tell car anything, but it varies by car, even same year can have different locking computers.
