Assisted living for adult with chronic mental health issues

    Hi,

I have a sibling in their 30s who has a long history of mental health issues. They have been seeing mental health professionals on and off for many years and have had a number of residential stays in psychiatric hospitals. They are on disability allowance and still living with my elderly parents who are less and less able to provide for an adult living with them and of course at some point they will not be around to provide support at all. My sibling doesn't have specific needs that I can easily describe but would not be able to live alone managing their affairs (financial, home upkeep, etc.).

I'm trying to research what assisted-living or sheltered accommodation services may exist for such people, or even services that might be available to recipients of social housing or rent-assisted housing to help them manage their affairs. Most services that I've found appear to cater specifically to adults over 55. Can anyone please suggest some starting points to research what options there might be for younger adults? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.
