Hi All, I have searched this forum and the construction and planning and could not find the answer so apologies if this has been asked before as it's all new to me.

I am doing a new build (direct labour) and before I conduct a pre BER assessment I am trying to work out what mm insulated plasterboard I need so I can estimate costs.

The walls of our build are as follows, render on 100mm block, 150mm cavity (to be pumped with bead of 0.035 thermal conductivity), 100mm block.

Can anyone give me an indication of what mm insulated plasterboard I will need inside to meet building regs or even point me in the direction of a calculator I could use.

Many thanks for all your help.

There's more to it than meeting the backstop u-values. You need to engage a BER assessor to do a preliminary DEAP report and provide you with a detailed specification of everything required, i.e. floor, wall and roof insulation type and thickness, thermal bridging factor, window spec and airtightness target result. The process needs to be looked at in the sum of the parts and not just at one element.
