Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Interior Polish Smell

Hi, I’d really appreciate any advice you could give me. I recently bought a second hand car from a well-respected garage. Lovely car, but in valeting it, they applied a very strong-smelling polish to the plastics on the interior. It catches in your throat, gives me and my family headaches - we wouldn’t be precious about small things, but this is really strong. We’ve tried mixing vinegar and water and applying it via a damp cloth which is of some benefit but can anyone recommend a way of removing it? Removing the polish/stopping the smell from coming off it would be preferable to using a product to mask it.

    thanks very much

I'd imagine they used autosmart scented silicone spray. The missus recently bought a new car and the interior was plastered in silicone spray and carpet dye. I used some surfex hd all purpose cleaner and that removed the shiny look on the plastic, was still a bit of smell from it in the car but that died down after a few days

Sprinkling bread soda overnight into teenagers trainers helps, maybe a bit on the carpet would work.

Thanks a million to you both - hope to find out tomorrow for sure what product led to the smell but will give the surfed hd a go and bread soda in the carpets if it turns out that it was given a dosing too…
