Recommend a 7-8k used car

    So my soon to be wife's 2011 focus turbo (1.6 Diesel) has packed it in for a 2nd time. At this point not really worth sinking another couple hundred into it.

    Looking to get into the market for a replacement for her, budget approx. 7-8k. Of course I can see it's a bad time to be in the used market so that's why I'm looking to you guys for some advice.

    Needs:

    • We live in a rural area so she drives approx. 25km each way to work daily so weekly allowing for ad hoc trips to shop etc I'd say to allow for 270km a week. On the weekends I do any road trips we are taking so no major mileage being clocked in general.
    • Large boot space for work equipment (physio table)
    • Small or midsized.

    Any suggestions on what to look out for similar to what the Focus was? Or even better where and what to avoid?
