DPF blocked and car's in limp mode

But I was just wondering if anyone else had a blocked DPF and used a special cleaner and went on a long drive and did it work?? Can you even drive a car that's in limp mode over DPF,.. Basically I'm looking for advice as I don't want to see him paying too much. I how much is it for a DPF cleaning? Also if anyone knows of a good mechanic it would be much appreciated!! Where are you based ??
DPF Cleaning can be expensive and can vary wildly from place to place. Best to check with a local mechanic who doesn't do it and see who they recommend.
