Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Markings on storm drain gulley

    Looking for some insight.

    The first two pictures are of new storm drain gulleys, after road resurfacing.

    The third is from a gulley that was covered with cloth and tarmac/stones

    The last one is of a newly installed gulley in our lane, a couple of feet from the edge of the road. The lane is designated as a public road.

    Questions. 

    1. What do the markings around the gulleys indicate?
    2. Why would a gulley be covered (third picture)
    3. Is it normal to have water at the bottom of a gulley like in the 4th picture. The gully was installed to alleviate a recurring flooding problem on our lane.

    Hope someone can offer some insight.

    Can't offer you help on 1 or 2, but water in the bottom of the gully is completely normal. That's the silt trap which stops stones and other debris from getting into the pipes. The bottom of outlet for the gully is at the water level.
