Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Buying a 2019 Peugeot 3008. Dealing is trying to sell me Autoglym which they describe as "a permanent paint & fabric protection that we apply here". €399.

    Should I go for it?

    Edit: 3008, not 2008.

I wouldn't bother..... Save the 400 and buy your own cleaning bits .... Or else have a few trips to a valeters (not detailers) with the money.

Autoglym lifeshine? A dealer probably won't allow the time to do it properly so I wouldn't get it applied there but if you wanted proper protection on your paintwork then take it to a detailer

If I got some sort of paint protection done would it be worthwhile on a second hand car? Is it generally done when new?

Paint correction if done properly can last couple of years or more. It is a multi stage process and takes couple if days and should be done indoors. Doubt dealership would do equally good a job as detailers who specialise in paint correction and protection. Mind you, this requires maintenance so if frequent washing and spraying not your thing and you plan to wash your car on filling stations brush automatical car washes then don't waste money.
