    HI All,

just a quick Q that i need clarity on please...

My wife is the executor of her recently passed mothers will (probate has cleared at this stage). She was left her mams car in the will. Her mams name is still on the logbook of the car and we are now looking to sell the car and forward the logbook to Shannon for the change of ownership. The law stipulates the following:

'Where the current owner (seller) of the vehicle is deceased, a letter from the Executor of Will or Solicitor showing the buyer's right to the vehicle should accompany the Vehicle Registration Certificate (VRC)'

My query is, if we are to send off the logbook following the sale of the car with a typed up letter signed by my wife simply declaring that she has received payment for the car from the buyer in her role as executor sufficent to transfer the ownership?

The cars only being sold for 600euro so its not like this is worth thousands... we just want to change the ownership of the car but as I say we want it done in the right way.

    RThanks

She just says she is the executor of the estate of xxx deceased and show a copy of the grant of probate and say buyer xxx is entitled to be registered as owner. She needds to be careful how she accounts for it if there are other beneficiaries.

can i just clarify to whom she needs to communicate all this (statement to clarify she's executor and show a copy of the grant of probate?) .... is it a letter (handwritten suffice?) that should accompany the logbook being sent to shannon...

    Again Thanks
