Recommendation | Amp/Speaker Options

Hi

Returning customer, my Denon 1610 and Jamo 5.1 speakers have served me very well for 10+ years!

However, after a recent house move, I need to explore new options. Looking for advice on the following …

• TV setup in backroom … only 40” TV and 2 seater (it’s a small area). Considering a sound bar or perhaps a 2.1 setup?
• TV setup in main living room … would love a 5.1 setup again but a wired solution for rear speakers isn’t possible. Any suggestions for 2.1 setup or is there a way to achieve a solid 5.1 setup?

To start with the back room, as it's a smaller room with a small TV I would recommend a soundbar for this room. We have just received the Denon DHTS516 which gives a great sound, has an HDMI input and output and also has a wireless sub:

Below this I would go for the Yamaha YAS209. It wouldn't give quite the same detail as the Denon but also has a wireless sub.

For the main living room if you're looking for a good amp with the ability to run 5.1 with wireless rears I would recommend the Yamaha RXV6A which can have wired fronts, centre and sub but can use the Musiccast 20 or Musiccast 50 wireless speakers as wireless rears. This would be the best option to give you a great sound with a wireless option for rear speakers. Unfortunately I'm currently out of stock of the RXV6A but we are hoping to receive a new batch in mid September although I don;t have a firm ETA just yet:

The AV Receivers are sold out again! We had very limited stock in but now have none left and I have no ETA at the moment for new ones.

I do have very limited stock of the RXA2A but you would be jumping to £899 for this amp!
