Rennovate Lawn

We have an old lawn, destroyed with moss. Recently we have extended it by adding a lot of fill to areas and added a lot more top soil to cover new parts or fill big holes. There are places now where we have old grass showing and others where the top soil has filled holes or has been layered over the extended areas.

Looking now to plant seed, do I need to dig up the old grass or kill it off before seeding? Any advice is appreciated
