Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    All,

my father is currently in hospital, doing very good thankfully but he seems to have lost his public services card... not in his wallet, not to be found at home..my mother is named to collect his pension on his behalf and visa versa but I’m trying to establish if there would be any way to collect a payment for him without his card ? The state benefits site doesn’t say that I’ve seen...Unlikely I know... he is expected to be home early next week and possibly we’d have to get whatever form for him etc to complete then but in the meantime...

    thanks..

    Good morning,

Glad your dad doing well, it would seem your mum if fully authorised to collect your dad's pension, whilst I can't be 100% sure, on reading the info attached it's not clear if the nominated person collecting uses their ID/PSC card or the recipients, it would seem logical the person collecting presents their ID. I would certainly call the section dealing with pensions and I've no doubt given authorisation for mum to collect is already approved, they will be accommodating or at least advise accordingly.

I also believe there is no rush to collect pension every week , but certainly get mum or perhaps you to call the department.

When your dad better, the process of replacing PSC is straightforward enough, might need an appointment etc.

The link I found dealing with this issue below and I can't see who's ID is presented, maybe someone else who has experience of this will post later.

    Regards

Your mum will need your dads pps no. to collect his pension. If he has a medical card it will be on there or drugs repayment scheme card or any letters he has been sent from social welfare or revenue will have it. It shouldn’t be a problem especially if they know them at the post office. This will do until he gets a replacement.
