    So watching this race, pre race Paula Radcliffe says she was talking to Mo about that hill that he needs to take it handy as it will be hard on his legs if he takes it full tilt. Haile clearly knew that this was the place to push on and you can see it from the hand signals to Kenenisa. The once he knows his work is done he pushes to the side to Mo can't draft off him. As a race goes this show how great a tactician both are. For the whole race Kenenisa lagged back even dropping off the pace when clearly he was well able for it. Mo was sold a pup and it was great. The race is well worth a watch fully as the goal was to do Mo and they did it.

    I remember watching the race when she said that and thinking she was giving daft advice. It's the last hill, only a mile to go, who gives a damn if it's hard on your legs, it's over in 10 seconds... Just crack on and put the foot down and run. The roundabout, the hill and the left hand turn are about the last chance to sneak a move on someone with a spare half second before they realise. Use them.


    Only other place to catch people out is where the flower pots and soldiers lining the route to the finish and you'll sometimes see someone take a wrong step there, but the race is normally well over by then.
