    Hi Good folks,

I know Frankfurt is supposed to be a Mare of a place to get around

But coming from Dublin and connecting from non schengen to a flight n the schengen area,I'm expecting passport control,But do you have to re clear security, baggage screen etc there too, like Heathrow?

I know you don't in Madrid or in Nice, just passport control in those

    Thanks

Is this all on the one ticket or separate?

    One ticket

Title of thread should read Frankfurt

We usually have to go through baggage security again when connecting between Ireland and a non-Schengen destination, but I can't remember if we had to go through passport control. Sometimes our onward flight was leaving from the same terminal where we landed and then there were no checks, but that was the exception rather than the norm. Have fond memories of burning up a few connecting hours with the kids on the "train".

I did Dublin-Frankfurt-St. Petersburg in February 2020 with Lufthansa. Jumped on a bus to the connecting terminal. I think all we did was baggage security. It was a fairly seamless connection.

Yeah you stayed in the non schengen area as your connection was to non schengen

I know we'll have to go through passport control but was wondering if we slso had to re clear security ie go through the scanners etc

Its looking likely from what I've read on tripadvisor but isn't certain

It would add T least a half hour onto the time
