Machine compatible with Aldi pods

I can hear the coffee connoisseurs here gag already LOL, but im just looking for a machine compatible with the old style pods like aldi/lidl/the old nespresso ones.

Anyone see any at a reasonable price?

I can buy a nespresso machine for like 70/80 quid but then i am stuck buying the new nespresso discs, which drives the price of the coffee up, so i suppose catch 22 but id prefer to stick to my 20 cent pods now that my taste buds are used to them.

Any of the original Nespresso coffee machines will work. They still sell them on the Nespresso online store. You can also pick them up in the usual electrical store. Just make sure they are not the vertuo models. The prices does seem to be higher though.

There's a difference between Nespresso Original Line and Nespresso Virtuo line - the machine's description should make clear if it's Virtuo or not.

Basically, Virtuo pods are only available from Nespresso itself, whereas Original line has a wide range of pod makers (Aldi, L'Or, Starbucks, Costa, etc.)

Still lots of places to buy Original Line machines from as Zhane said

Sorry folks can I jump in here on the same topic.

I was looking at a Nespresso Pixie machine as a gift for my oh. Am I right in saying it would also take capsules from Aldi/Lidl as well as it’s own capsules ??

any other feedback on this machine would be appreciated.

I spotted it on Amazon.de for €120, I’d have to replace the plug but other than that it seems a good price.

Yes, with Nespresso Original line machines you can get compatible pods from any number of brands (Aldi, Starbucks, Costa, etc.). It's just Nespresso Virtuo that you can only use Nespresso-brand pods.
