I was on an Irish refurbished mobile phone site last night just checking out the price of their phones and underneath I saw it say 'all phones are subject to VAT at 23%' and i got to thinking, hold on a moment VAT was charged on these phones when bought brand new and they are now being sold refurbished/used and the government (or them) charge VAT again on them - so what is this double taxing is it - 2 lots of VAT to be paid on the phones?
