Emulsion/Ceiling Paint

Hi All,

Had some new walls plastered and somebody recommended to me to put initial coat of white emulsion paint with a little water to it as initial coat before applying the other colour to the walls.

I had been using the emulsion paint on the ceiling but have since ran out. I have pure white ceiling paint. If I do the remainder of the ceiling with the white ceiling paint will there be a notable difference or would I be better off getting more of the emulsion to finish it off?
