Hi, If budget is €15k, want a petrol compact, low-ish milage with nice interior- comfortable, nice trim & features, economical, not plastic feel what would you recommend please? (I'm coming from a Saab 93) Thanks, Pa.

Audi A3 would tick most of those boxes, depending on what your idea of low mileage is.

Volvo V40 Perhaps? If it's build quality you're after, they're put together and a nice place to sit with great seats. They look very well with cream leather too. To be honest though, the infotainment in comparison to others wouldn't be great.
