Hi, I'm interested in buying some shares in companies as a long term investment, there are so many websites / platforms online its hard to know which ones are the best or most reliable.

I would be buying or selling shares very often, maybe a couple times of the year I buy some.

What websites / platforms would you recommend?

    Thanks

Degiro is what most people on here seem to be going with. Easy to use and low transaction costs, and as long as you have less than 80k in your account your money will be guaranteed.

I have been using it for a few years without any issue. Definitely would not recommend it for more complex trading like buying options, if that is what you are planning to do.
