Critical error by solicitor?

Is it usual for a solicitor to send a response to another solicitor’s letter without asking the client to proof/approve it first. Also, if this letter contains information that’s incorrect and potentially detrimental to their own client’s case can the letter be retracted. And, if it wasn’t marked ‘without prejudice’ can it…

If you explain to your solicitor why it is a critical error and ask her or him clarify the error to the other side ?
