Having a kid with needs is a license to behave like an unmitigated narcissist.

Its the quietly coping families who just get on with it who I feel sorry for.

Healthcare has certainly not kept up with population increase and modern treatment options.

It’s not quite a matter of a bed in Beaumont, it’s a place in theatre, specialist neuro ICU etc.

If she’s not a priority then the people who are must be really ill.

Sometimes health insurance isn't worth a flying fook.

Health insurance has nothing to do with this case

Seems with insurance involved, daily rates being charged, hospital not in any rush, cynical I know but this is grim stuff

I feel very sorry for her, and hope things work out as well as possible, but a government minister is definitely not going to be able to fix things for her.

Measured, calm, reasoned caller. Hope they get a speedy resolution.

No need to smoke at hospital doors. The severity of your addiction is your problem. Don't make it everyone else's problem.

Ah jaysis, two weeks is a start, but you’re not there yet unless you are extremely committed to the long term.

    I don’t think he is.

Excuses, excuses, excuses.. that's all you hear from puffers. Cut out related health care for them, to back of any queue and they'd soon wise up.

It's particularly funny when someone hits pension age and circa 50% of every cent of income they get is spent on cigarettes, mind boggles.

  • Posts: 24,009 Riley Helpless Grapevine

Stop thinking of the addiction as being severe or you’re on a hiding to nothing. That kind of thinking will actually stop you giving up. It’s entirely doable to quote if you are in the right frame of mind and you have thought it through.
